Supporting the Frontline: Why Strictlymarketing Is Backing Drug ARM
At Strictlymarketing, we believe in using our platform and experience not only to grow brands but to strengthen the communities we live and work in. That’s why we’re proud to share that our Founder and Director, Beverley Strickland, has joined the Fundraising Sub-Committee of Drug ARM, a not-for-profit organisation doing vital work across Australia.
A Personal Connection to a Bigger Cause
This isn’t a new relationship. Beverley has spent several years volunteering with Drug ARM’s Street Outreach Van in Brisbane, connecting directly with individuals affected by homelessness, addiction and complex life challenges. Those evenings on the streets weren’t just about providing water, food or warm conversation, they were about listening, showing dignity and understanding how substance use can impact people’s lives at every level.
Seeing the growing need and the incredible work Drug ARM does behind the scenes, Beverley was inspired to find a new way to support the mission. Her new role on the Fundraising Sub-Committee is about helping increase visibility, grow community engagement and support efforts to raise the funds these programs rely on.
Why Drug ARM?
Drug ARM (Drug Awareness, Rehabilitation and Management) has been supporting Australians for over 40 years. Their services include everything from street outreach and free counselling to youth support, family services and community education.
They meet people where they are, literally and figuratively. Whether it’s someone battling addiction, a young person at risk or a family needing support, Drug ARM provides compassionate, practical help that changes lives.
They operate across Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia and their impact is both deep and far-reaching.
The Bigger Picture
Australia is facing a serious alcohol and drug use crisis:
- 1 in 5 Australians has used an illicit drug in the past year.
- Over 30% drink at risky levels.
- 57% of all drug-related hospitalisations are linked to alcohol.
- 2,356 people lost their lives to drug overdoses in 2022 alone.
These statistics aren’t just numbers. They represent lives disrupted, families torn apart and communities in need of support. Organisations like Drug ARM are often on the frontline, quietly, consistently helping to rebuild those lives.
