Build-A-Bear Launch Surfers Paradise franchise
Built across two levels and covering 253sqm, US chain Build-A-Bear has opened its latest franchise at the Gold Coast’s Soul Boardwalk.
Build-A-Bear opened its first store in St Louis, Missouri in 1987 and has since grown into a thriving business with more than 400 stores worldwide.
The workshop and party venue at Soul Boardwalk – located directly opposite Surfers Paradise Beach – will host workshops where people of all ages can design, build and take home their own teddy bear or soft toy from the wide range available.
Guests at Build-A-Bear can also dress and accessorise their new plush toy with clothing ranging from football team supporter gear to overalls, hats to sunglasses and many others.
Build-A-Bear at Soul Boardwalk is also set to become a prominent venue for parties – for both children and adults – who want to have some good, clean fun.
For those who are unable to make it in store, the team at Build-A-Bear also host in-home events for your home or office party.
Build-A-Bear, Soul Boardwalk CEO Gavin Port said there were also plans to incorporate a cafe and children’s playground into the new premises providing a more relaxed and pleasurable experience for guests.
The venue will be open between 9am and 9pm daily.
Strictlymarketing has welcomed Laura Perkins to the team in the role of Marketing Executive. Laura holds a Bachelor of Business, is studying for her Masters in Public Relations at Queensland University of Technology and, has a solid work history in retail and has previously worked as a Marketing Assistant. In 2018, she was the recipient of the Brisbane Advertising Association’s Advertising Copywriting Award and was placed on the QUT Business School Executive Dean’s List. Laura is a results-oriented marketing professional with a demonstrated track record for developing and delivering creative content, analytical reports and building a strong social media presence for clients.
Lauryn Garrard has joined the Strictlymarketing team as our newest Marketing Assistant. Lauryn is a Entertainment Industries graduate from Queensland University of Technology and, with six years working as a retail sales assistant, she has strong first-hand experience of the retail sector. Lauryn is passionate about the power of social media to connect and engage with customers. She brings to the job a strong attention to detail, tenacity, initiative, excellent organisational and communication skills and experience volunteering at large events.
Recently the Strictlymarketing team enjoyed a full day retail merchandising workshop, hosted by our friends at The Prop House.
We learnt the ins and outs of the art of retail merchandising for both product and fashion displays – we explored colour theory, composition, the importance of texture, size and more. The team enjoyed creating their own visual displays, team bonding, and the opportunity to dress up!
